Welcome to etalki. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to the terms set out below. Please read them carefully.
1. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
2. Booking lessons
Students can book 1-on-1 lessons with any approved tutor. Lessons are paid from your etalki wallet balance. You may cancel a lesson up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund to your wallet. Late cancellations or no-shows may forfeit the lesson fee at the tutor's discretion.
3. Tutor obligations
Tutors agree to deliver each booked lesson at the scheduled time, behave professionally, and provide a learning environment appropriate for the student. etalki takes a 15% commission on each completed lesson; the remaining 85% is credited to the tutor's wallet.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Share contact details to arrange off-platform lessons that bypass our fee
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your qualifications
- Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights
5. Refunds
Wallet top-ups are refundable on request within 14 days for any unused balance. Once a lesson has been completed, the fee is non-refundable except in cases of clear tutor misconduct (which our support team will review case-by-case).
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may close your own account at any time by contacting support.
7. Limitation of liability
etalki acts as a marketplace connecting students and tutors. We are not party to the lesson contract itself and are not liable for the quality, accuracy, or outcome of any individual lesson beyond reasonable platform-level support.
8. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email or a banner on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.
